Re-visit our “in progress” house

Yes, I was tagged along by hubby to Craigieburn to visit our house which is currently being built. Actually I was too indolent to go out on Sunday as typically Sunday will be my baking day. I’ve planned to bake some Christmas goodies this week and you know what!? Baking really cheers me up! However, I managed to bake one of the goodies before we went out. Hehe… good on me!

On the way to Craigieburn… (on the train)

Yay! My new house (only the frame at the moment… haha!)

Posing around the house... :P

Waiting for the bus to go to the train station... snapping around to pass time!

On the way back, hubby suggested that we stopped at Broadmeadows Shopping Centre before we get back to the city as we were bored with the shopping centre in the city.

Yeahhhh! Christmas is just around the corner...

While we were hanging around at the ground floor, I saw this restaurant – La Porchetta which serves the best pizzas and pasta! Hubby knows that I fancy Italian food, hence, he suggested to have our early dinner here. (Frankly, it was about 4.00pm) Dinner? Huh? It should probably be afternoon tea, right? Anyway, how can I say NO? I answered 'OKOK, let’s do it!' An utter pleasure… = )

We ordered a Super Special Pizza – homemade tomato sauce base, ham, mozzarella, anchovies, mushroom, olives, capsicum and hot salami.

A very thin slice of crispy pizza! Yummy yummy! =)

Another must try meal will be pasta! When come to pasta, I tend to choose cream sauce. Usually I will choose Carbonara but today I opted for something different (still with cream sauce though) which is Pollo e Funghi - Spaghetti with lean chicken pieces, spring onions, freshly diced mushrooms cooked with grated parmesan in a cream sauce. Oh yum! I enjoyed every bite of it.

Hubby also ordered a seafood platter for us – Frittura Mista. We tried this before and they were really delicious so definitely we didn’t miss it.

A basket of seafood containing 1 piece of fish, 7 calamari rings, 3 scallops and 3 prawns. You can choose one of the following sides: fresh salad or steamed vegetables or chips. Of course, chips were our choice!

Last but not least, sweet moment arrived! Hubby noticed that I kept eyeing on the dessert menu. :P He pampered me with this yummylicious ** Bacio Bon Bon**. A delicious dessert ice cream made by creamy bacio (a combination of chocolate and hazelnut) gelato with a cocoa syrup centre coated in chocolate and topped with meringue sprinkles. It was superb! (“;)

In that moment, I really didn’t mind those calories that I will gain. Well, I know I will definitely regret after that. :P However, it was a satiated meal for the day! Thanks to hubby for bringing me. ^_^

Oh ya, I was lucky to taste homemade "lobak" by Chai Hoong in the evening. It’s been ages since I ate this authentic Malaysian food.

The chicken was tender and juicy. I love the crispy outer layer the most and now I am yearning for more Malaysian food… LOL. Anyway, credit to Chai Hoong for the delicious lobak! = )

Lazy Sunday

It was raining out there since the night before. Honestly I don’t like rainy day as it makes me feel so lazy. I was not in the mood for neither baking nor cooking. It was really hard to get myself out from the cozy bed.

We even had our breakfast on the bed and watching our favorite drama – Heroes, at the same time. Our breakfast was Garlic and Parsley Bread which is simple and quick to make. (Kinda lazy to prepare big breakfast)
..........…………………… movie continued ………………………………

Our lunch was junk food!!! Gosh, I think I had too much junk food! I can feel so much “FAT” in my stomach now. I was soooooo regretful! I shouldn’t eat those yummy potato chips and cookies. How? How? I told myself that, it’s ok. I will work harder during tomorrow’s work out! Hehe… (trying to find excuses to comfort myself)

From dramas to movies, movies to dramas… at last we finished all the movies and dramas that we downloaded. By that time, it was 8:00 at night and we didn't have our dinner yet. We were so lazy to eat out so hubby suggested that we order delivery of Indian food. So yeah, our late dinner was Indian food. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Vindaloo, Fish Masala Curry and 3 pieces of Butter Naan.

Spicy!!! They were so spicy but we loved it. :P We were very satisfied with the food and definitely will order again in the future (when we feel lazy to eat out)

This is Chicken Vindaloo. I didn't take the photo for Chicken Tikka Masala because both of them look the same. So…

Butter Naan with Fish Masala Curry

Yeah, this is me with tiring face (see, my puffy eye) and hungry face too! :P

Emirates Stakes Day

Yes, this is it. Two weeks ago I was buying clothes for this event and today is the day. I was so excited and woke up early to prepare myself. =D The event was held at Flemington and trains were scheduled to travel to Flemington Racecourse every 4 minutes so it was really convenient for the public.

I had missed 2 trains because there were too many people going to the racecourse and I couldn’t get into the train. = ( So, gotta wait for the next one. By the way, it was a damn hot day! I think it was about 28 degrees.
The racecourse is very big and I was like a lost sheep looking for the corporate marquee under hot weather with my high heels (I don’t usually wear heels so it was kinda killing me). Finally I found it. Crossed over this “bridge” and I seen the corporate marquee in Members Birdcage.

Entrance to the Members Birdcage

After I went into the Birdcage, I need to look for Tabcorp (my company) marquee. So on the way, I saw some fabulous design marquee like Hilton, Lexus, Emirates, Myer and etc.

Oh yeah… I found Tabcorp marquee. Here is it. Well, not too bad huh the design.

The first thing that I did when I got into the marquee was to look for my manager. Hmm… actually I think I arrived early as I cannot find her. So, I entertained myself with a cup of orange juice and took some pictures! Hehe…

Since there were not many people yet, I decided to look around in the racecourse.

This is the public places where you can see people picnicking on the ground while watching the races.

There was a FREE make-up organized by L’Oreal, you can see soooo many ladies queuing under the hot sun! L’Oreal even provided umbrellas for them! Awesome service!!!

This is the place where horses were waiting. Every horse has it own “cubicle”. :P

It was so hot! I decided to go back to the marquee to get a cold drink as I was thirsty. On the way back, another photo taken in front of this classy design of Tabcorp marquee!

Obviously, there were more people now. I felt so good after had a glass of cold juice! Catched up with some colleagues from general accounting department and we were discussing about the races. There were 9 races for the day. I placed some bets on a few races (just for fun!). I am not a gambler and this is my first time (bet on horses). = D

Okay, now is photo shoot session…

Before I started working in Treasury department, I used to work as Accounts Payable and this is my AP manager. She is a lovely and sweet person.

Okay, this is my current Treasury manager. She is a very friendly person. You can see smile always on her face. (^_^)

When the race started, everyone will stop talking and focus on the TV and you can hear some screaming. The environment was full of excitement. That was really fun! Well, not to mentioned, I had no luck with my bets but it’s a new experience for me. (";)
After the races finished, the DJ started to play some music and people starting dancing. So, all of us also joined in the crowd in the dance floor (not really a dance floor but in the middle of the marquee). I think I had not danced for ages… felt a little bit awkward in the beginning. After all, I really enjoyed it as the DJ had done a good job. Ha ha!

It was nearly 7.00p.m. On the way out, I took another photo with these beautiful flowers.
Well, it was really a fresh new experience for me. My first time ever to watch horse racing and place bet on them. Also, I’ve wore my first fascinator (although it is just a small one). I saw some pretty ladies with their beautiful and elegance fascinators when I walked around in the racecourse. Maybe next time, I will try on something bigger and colorful. I think mine was not really visible as it is small and is in black color which is same color with my hair. Duh…
